I bought a set of flights from kiwi.com and they neglected to purchase them from the airline. I was unable to fly and was forced to buy another more expensive ticket last minute. They have NOT REFUNDED, let alone offered compensation. Booking reference number 4974824.

On the 9 February I was due to to fly with Tigerair at 0500 flight IT217 from Tokyo Haneda to Taiwan Taipei. When I went to the check-in desk, the airline was unable to find my records of my ticket through the ticket kiwi.com issued me. They were unable to find my name and any record of me having a ticket. I contacted kiwi.com via phone and the agent was extremely unhelpful. She continued to repeat the same mantra that everything was confirmed and I can get on the plane and if their was a problem it was with the airline. The airline staff also spoke to her but were unable to resolve this issue. After the stress of being refused to be allowed to get on the plane and no help from kiwi.com. I was forced to purchase more expensive flights last minute to be able to make it to my destination.

After several emails asking them to explain what happened. I finally got a some form of reply other than their usually pointless mantra.

Quote from them “We regret to inform you that we have failed to book the flight from Tokyo (HND) to Taipei (TPE) via Tigerair Taiwan and failed to inform you about it. The finance department is now working on it for you to receive a possible refund for the said flight. Please be informed also that the refund may take up to 30 days from the time that it has been submitted. Once again, please accept our apologies for the inconveniences you are having in this process. Rest assured that Kiwi.com do not wish for any of this to happen to your reservation.”

After trying to get an update from them on how my refund was going and when it was due. I keep getting replies changing the dates of when I submitted the refund application and keep pushing the dates back to when the 30 days is due. Then I also get irrelevant replies saying they are still waiting for a reply from the airline regarding the refund, so the refund may now take LONGER than 30 days now. When clearly the fault was entirely with them and had nothing to do with the airline.

I have over 38 corresponding letters with kiwi.com as proof of what has happened.

It has now been over 30 days since I submitted the refund application and I have had no refund, no explanation as to why I am not entitled to a refund. The only compensation they have ever offered is a 20 euro voucher to use on their website with a 6 month expiry.

This whole experience has left me scarred and sad at humanity. I believe I have been a victim of a scam/fraudulent activity/being cheated. I would not wish this to ever happen again to anybody. So even if I have been left out of pocket and emotionally traumatised, I hope I can help others not go through the same thing.

Just wondering if anyone else has had same experience? I recently bought tickets at flighthub, and I selected “no insurance”. I even did a screenshot to verify, Then after completing everything, they charged me an extra 2000 for insurance! I called and they actually have a dedicated extension just for cancelling the insurance! Scammers! Beware of shady practices like this! They will probably say its a programming glitch! lol. I wonder how many people they catch with this. that never look at their credit card..

An extra 2000 what? We have no idea which currency you are talking in so you might want to mention it to give other readers some perspective.

Fake tickets were issued to me by Flighthub after talking to them over the phone for 2 hours and 13 minutes. At the time of check-in, the airline noted that the ticket(s) issued were fake and were not valid due to Flighthub error.

Flighthub representatives are not trained to handle tickets manually and only read what’s on their computer screens, regardless of what clients explain to them. Managers are simply ignoring the facts and do the same, ignoring the issues and read their computer screens. They even admit that they made an error, yet, they simply say they cannot do anything. The only thing that they say is that tickets are non-refundable if bought from them, even if they made a mistake in booking them.

If you buy tickets from them, that I have before, there is 50/50 chance that the ticket(s) are fake. If you change the date on your ticket, there is a 90% chance your ticket is fake.

I have seen some amazing statements on this forum, and this one is up there with them.

I think that there’s a good chance you did agree to the insurance, albeit unwittingly.

Oh I just went through this as well, did the booking very carefully with my Wife at my side and when the invoice came through $250.56 Canadian for life insurance then another $39.98 for Extended Cancelation Policyand as one stated when you phone they have a specific extension dedicated to canceling the insurance but would not cancel the Concelation Policy even though I did not accept it in the booking, then they sent updated invoice and they added $31.90 for Seat Map Fee, this is pretty much against the law to charge my credit card for unauthorized charges, I lost it on them so they reversed this charge, the then tell me allow up to 10 business days for the credit to be in my account, again I lost it and said “no credit me now”, you have already got my money, then their tone changed and said they have not charged my card yet. I can just imaging in ten days chasing for my money again. never deal with these jokers ever again. Also for some reason the charge of for the Concellation Policy was renamed on the new invoice to Purchase Guarantee.

Boeing plans to stage first flight of 777X plane this week: sources

DUBLIN (Reuters) – Boeing (N: BA ) plans to carry out the first test flight of its delayed 777X airplane later this week, said two people familiar with the matter on Tuesday.

A source close to one of the wide-body jet’s nine firm customers said the flight would take place on Thursday or Friday at Boeing’s commercial base outside Seattle, depending on weather.

Another person familiar with the program said the flight would happen late this week.

Boeing could not immediately be reached for comment.

Boeing has said its largest ever twin-engined model, designed to hold on average 406 people, would fly for the first time in early 2020, with the first jet on track to be delivered in 2021. It was originally due to be delivered in mid-2020.
